about "Endgame" (and my story "eating it too")

I wrote this blurb as part of a question for TV class last week:
In the series finale of Star Trek: Voyager (one of my favorite TV episodes of all time), a projected Admiral Janeway travels 26 years into the past to save her earlier counterpart (the Captain Janeway we all know and love) from her tragically spinsterish fate, therein breaking the rules of Trek’s cherished “temporal prime directive." This plot could be interpreted not only as a personalization of abstract “temporal mechanics” or an appropriately spectacular and kamikaze means of achieving final narrative closure, but as a self-reflexive metaphor for or commentary on TV’s own function as a time machine. In this case, the figure seems particularly bound up with spectatorship (even, dare I say, fandom): identified with the protagonist, witness to her trials and tribulations as they have unfolded through time, the Admiral feels compelled to intercept and enter into the TV text, rewriting the end of the story.
Heh!

wow

I've just read some of your fan fiction on the sie and I can safely say that now, you are my favourite fanfiction author. wow. The captain janeway/admiral janeway was amazing. I think you are fabulous. I mean you read some fanfics and the authors can not punctuate, spell or even make sense, but here, you can do all three and pull together an amazing story out of it. As an unpublished Author, I would love it if you would maybe read some of my fics (all J/7 or battlestar Starbuck/Roslin). Please let me know. Loves and hugs.

Re: wow

thanks so much for your generous comments! I'd love to read your fic if you point me to it -- especially the BSG, because I'm keeping a masterlist of that.
